Mr Wendell Berry of Henry County KY

In case anyone hasn't noticed one of my favorite writers is Wendell Berry. Berry is the kind of thinker that it is easy to spot those influenced by him a mile away they are the urbanites talking about husbanding their window garden or the ones who like to point out that humus and human have the same root (my personal favorite). Berry is also a writer that easily provokes derision the most common is that he thinks everyone should be a farmer, this is not true. Over the next couple weeks I'm going to read some Wendell Berry books specifically his two newest books of essays. Along with this I'm going to write some posts about three things Wendell Berry is and two things he is not. This is meant to help me process what I'm reading as well as spark discussion. Whether it will do either remains to be seen.

He is
1. a writer out of school
2. a farmer
3. a patriot of the commonwealth.

He is not
1. a Ludite
2. a sentimental.
